Visit to the Annevoie Water Gardens

The Annevoie Water Gardens were designed and created between 1758 and 1776 by Charles-Alexis de Montpellier. Towards the end of the 18th century, his son Nicolas-Charles expanded his father’s work while preserving the original layout.
Water is the defining feature of the Annevoie Gardens, which include more than twenty pools and ponds, naturally supplied and enhanced by around fifty fountains and water jets. The water flows down the slopes surrounding the castle and comes, among other sources, from the large 400-metre canal that overlooks the entire site.
